Management Accountant

About the role

Our client, a £70m business within a larger group, is seeking a Management Accountant to own the finance function for its Direct channel (approximately £40‑50m). You will be responsible for end‑to‑end accounting, forecasting, budgeting and will act as a key partner to the senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end balance sheet reporting for the Direct channel, including intercompany and cash reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit monthly income‑statement actuals and forecasts to the group, with analysis and commentary.
• Partner with the Direct channel to support business strategy, growth and budgeting.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing evidence and addressing discrepancies.
• Produce monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations for review by the Financial Director.
• Create and maintain reports that analyse revenue, expenses, variances and trends.
• Develop data models and dashboards, working closely with the Finance Director and Finance Manager.
• Analyse historical financial data and provide recommendations for future planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience in management accounting within a £40‑50m business environment.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and act as a strategic business partner.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting internal and external audit processes.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment integrating new entities and ERP implementation.
