Management Accountant – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Management Accountant to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Hastings. This is an excellent opportunity for a part‑qualified accountant to develop their career in a fast‑paced production environment, working closely with operational stakeholders and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including full P&L and balance‑sheet reporting.
• Produce monthly accruals, pre‑payments and journal postings.
• Carry out variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior periods.
• Partner with operational and production teams to support decision‑making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, stock movements and inventory reporting.
• Support cost analysis and margin reporting across product lines.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Report cash flow and analyse working capital.
• Support year‑end audit processes and statutory reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial controls.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and projects as required by senior management.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant.
• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or production environment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive approach and desire to continuously improve processes.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel.
