Management Accountant – Part‑time

About the role

Stirling Ellis, a fast‑growing SME manufacturing business, is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to work 20‑25 hours per week on‑site in Slough. You will report directly to the Finance Director and support month‑end management accounting, payroll and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable queries.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and month‑end journals, including accruals and pre‑payments.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and manage the fixed‑asset register.
• Administer the company payroll function and update employee pay details.
• Conduct financial, margin and cost analysis, and support board‑level reporting.
• Process banking transactions, reconcile bank statements and monitor production variances.
• Handle inventory accounting, stock counts and valuation, and report budget variances.
• Assist the Finance Director with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA (or part‑qualified) with experience in a busy SME environment.
• Looking specifically for a part‑time role and able to work on‑site 20‑25 hours per week.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using an accounting or ERP system.
