Management Accountant – Property & Construction

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team within a growing property and construction business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will maintain accurate financial records, support project profitability analysis and ensure timely reporting across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary.
• Manage project ledgers, track costs against budgets and flag overruns early.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and support working‑capital planning.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with the audit process and contribute to year‑end financial statements.
• Collaborate with project managers to understand cost drivers and improve forecasting accuracy.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or working towards one of these qualifications.
• Hands‑on experience in construction, property development or contract costing.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and project‑based financial management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Comfort with accounting software.
