Management Consultant – Fibre and Backhaul Network

About the role

We are seeking a Management Consultant specialized in fibre and backhaul networks to join our London team. The role involves planning, building and operating network platforms, driving automation and delivering cost‑effective solutions for communication service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, build, launch and operate network and platform solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Understand and implement service‑provider processes and standards.
• Evaluate and optimise network planning, set‑up and deployment technologies.
• Collaborate across teams and geographies and manage senior stakeholder relationships.
• Lead change‑management initiatives for network construction processes.
• Plan passive infrastructure build for the wide‑area network.
• Monitor and report on technical and commercial performance.
• Apply automation and autonomous operations to reduce CAPEX and OPEX.

Required profile

• 1‑4+ years of experience in network architecture, transport technologies or related fields.
• Proven ability to work across teams, manage senior stakeholder relationships and lead change initiatives.

Required skills

• Fibre, copper and cable network architecture.
• xTTH technologies.
• Transport architectures: SDH, MPLS, IP, DWDM, x‑PON.
• Standards and frameworks: ITU‑T, IEEE, MEF, Broadband Forum, TM Forum.
• AI and automation in fixed networks, including automated planning, predictive maintenance and generative AI.
• End‑to‑end program management.
• Fixed and transport network design (high‑level and low‑level).
• Network build, commercial and vendor management.
• Operating model design and command‑centre definition aligned to eTOM and TM Forum.
• Knowledge of UK fibre roll‑out, wholesale and open‑access regulations.
• Network deployment, architecture, planning and analytics.
• Operations: activation, fulfilment, field installation and service management.
• Use of Agentic‑AI to drive network operations.
