Management Information Systems & Reporting Manager

About the role

This newly created permanent position will lead the development and management of the college's Management Information Systems. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will ensure data quality, compliance and timely reporting to support funding, curriculum planning and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Strategically manage and operate the college's MIS platforms.
• Develop and deliver the annual MIS development plan.
• Lead, support and develop the MIS team.
• Ensure accurate Individualised Learner Record (ILR) submissions and statutory returns.
• Produce funding reports, management dashboards and other key information.
• Maintain data quality processes, internal controls and system security.
• Configure system permissions, workflows and integrations.
• Oversee system upgrades, testing and implementation of new functionality.
• Identify and implement automation and efficiency improvements.
• Provide advice and training to curriculum and support teams.
• Develop documentation, user guidance and data governance procedures.

Required profile

• Significant MIS experience within a Further Education College.
• Strong knowledge of ILR returns, ESFA funding rules and audit requirements.
• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Data Management or a related field.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
