About the role
Our client, a leading food manufacturer in Kent, is seeking a Mandarin‑speaking Food Buyer to manage the purchase of raw materials, packaging, and production consumables. The role supports production planning to ensure continuous factory operation, cost efficiency and supply continuity.
Key responsibilities
- Purchase raw materials, packaging, ingredients and consumables in line with production schedules.
- Monitor stock levels and guarantee material availability to prevent production interruptions.
- Create and manage purchase orders using SAP or internal systems.
- Coordinate delivery dates with suppliers to secure on‑time arrivals.
- Address supplier shortages, delays and quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing data and supplier information.
Required profile
- Previous purchasing experience within a food or FMCG environment.
- Fluent Mandarin speaker.
- Strong organisational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
- Attention to detail and solid problem‑solving skills.
