Mandarin Speaking Senior Manager of Business Development

About the role

This senior position leads business development for a corporate banking portfolio, focusing on Mandarin‑speaking clients in London. You will own risk and credit responsibilities while driving profitability and relationship depth.

Key responsibilities

• Meet business targets and assume first‑line ownership of KYC, CDD, credit and other risk exposures for assigned clients.
• Build and maintain a profitable business portfolio, negotiating product terms and identifying cross‑sell opportunities.
• Develop and sustain relationships with introducers and the wider business community, maintaining detailed relationship plans and reports.
• Originate transactions, conduct in‑depth credit and KYC assessments, and prepare credit proposals in line with branch policies.
• Perform enhanced due‑diligence, financial modelling, simulation and sensitivity testing to mitigate transaction risk.
• Monitor market, regulatory and macro‑economic developments affecting the loan portfolio and report post‑loan risk signals.
• Collaborate with middle‑ and back‑office teams to ensure accurate data entry, booking and ongoing compliance monitoring.

Required profile

• Fluent Mandarin with strong client‑management experience.
• Proven background in corporate banking, business development and risk ownership.
• Senior‑level experience handling credit, KYC and portfolio risk.
• Ability to work independently in an office‑based environment and manage a complex client portfolio.
