Manufacturing Engineer – Automation (PLC & Robotics)

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with PLC and robotics experience to join a growing, well‑established manufacturing business in Strood. The role focuses on improving automated production workflows, supporting capital projects, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Improve and optimise automated workflows within the production line.
• Program and maintain PLCs and robotic systems, including Mitsubishi or Siemens platforms.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices and drive lean initiatives.
• Support capital investment projects and hands‑on project work.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and analyse production data from Andon systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance overall plant performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with Mitsubishi or Siemens PLC and HMI programming.
