Manufacturing Engineer – Automotive (Woking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a long‑standing automotive manufacturing business in Woking, Surrey. The role involves developing assembly concepts, supporting new model introductions and driving continuous improvement across the paint shop, body assembly and other production areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine assembly concepts in virtual environments and validate them physically.
• Create process sequencing, documentation and product traceability for new model introductions.
• Lead PFMEA analysis and support DFMEA to ensure right‑first‑time delivery.
• Own and maintain high‑performance computing (HPC) reporting for new models, supporting plant efficiency targets.
• Conduct line‑balancing, time and motion studies to identify production opportunities and improve flow.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations on facility layout, material flow and utilisation decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer (or similar) within the automotive OEM or Tier‑1 sector.
• Strong understanding of safe working practices and ability to apply them consistently.
• Experience working across engineering and operational teams with effective stakeholder management.
• Excellent attention to detail, data‑analysis capability and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Calm, proactive approach under pressure and flexibility to adapt plans.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £40,000‑£52,000 per annum (DOE).
• 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday 8:00‑17:00.
• Relocation package of £3,000‑£5,000 for candidates moving to Surrey.
