Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Are you a hands‑on, improvement‑focused Manufacturing Engineer eager to make a real impact on production processes? Our client, a well‑established manufacturing organisation in Cramlington, is looking for a proactive engineer to join the team and drive change on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Support and enhance manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, quality and throughput.
• Investigate and solve production issues using structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, waste and scrap.
• Maintain and update manufacturing documentation to reflect current practices.
• Collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams to uphold high standards.

Required profile

• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment such as machining, heavy engineering or automotive.
• Practical understanding of continuous improvement and production support methods.
• Comfortable working on a fast‑paced shop floor.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with CAD tools (optional).
