Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Beagle Aircraft, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join its Engineering team in Christchurch. Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing aerospace components, supporting product introductions, process planning and customer quotations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise manufacturing methods, tooling and production processes for aerospace components.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure efficient transition from design to manufacture.
• Create and maintain process documentation such as process planning sheets, Local Control Documents (LCDs) and Process Control Documents (PCDs).
• Update manufacturing methods and process plans in response to engineering changes and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support to Production, troubleshoot manufacturing issues and enhance process efficiency.
• Liaise with customers and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and support project delivery.
• Collaborate with Shop Floor Supervisors to introduce new products effectively.
• Prepare manufacturing estimates and quotations, including labour, material and tooling costs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase productivity and adopt new manufacturing technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace, precision manufacturing or a related engineering environment.
• Strong interest in solving technical challenges and improving manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams including Production, Engineering, Commercial and Purchasing.
