Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our defence manufacturing unit in Bolton. You will help ensure that missile assembly products are built efficiently, to budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and update manufacturing instructions.
• Design, commission and prove tooling associated with production.
• Support industrial validation using FMEA, FAI and related techniques.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during manufacturing.
• Implement route‑card changes resulting from re‑work activities.
• Manage configuration control by embedding design modifications into manufacturing documentation.
• Assist the non‑conformance process using SAP.

Required profile

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3) or equivalent.
• Level 4 academic qualification (HNC, diploma, etc.) in Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Experience with electronic sub‑assembly manufacture and system‑level builds.
• Familiarity with small/miniature electro‑mechanical actuation systems.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

What we offer

• Rate of £35.00 per hour.
• 37‑hour work week with overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑quarter.
• 12‑month initial contract, with the potential for long‑term continuation.
• Inside IR35 umbrella arrangement.
