Manufacturing Engineer & NPI Manager – Aerospace

About the role

We are seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer who will also lead New Product Introduction (NPI) for a fast‑growing aerospace engineering business in Bristol. The role combines hands‑on engineering with project leadership to launch new aerospace components and drive process excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end NPI process from RFQ through production readiness, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and quality standards.
• Apply APQP methodology, conduct risk assessments and manage product launch activities.
• Develop, refine and sustain manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
• Support engineering change orders, non‑conformance investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers, production teams and supply‑chain partners to optimise quality, efficiency and cost.
• Create and maintain process documentation, routings and work instructions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to production staff.
• Act as deputy to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Proven experience with APQP, FMEA and process improvement.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and hands‑on engineering capability.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and lean/5S principles.
• Desirable aerospace industry experience and CAD/CAM knowledge.
• 3 + years of NPI management experience is a plus.
