Manufacturing Finance Assistant – 12‑Month Temporary

About the role

This 12‑month temporary position supports the finance function of a manufacturing business in High Wycombe. The role is office‑based, full‑time, and requires a proactive individual who can manage day‑to‑day accounting tasks independently while liaising with the wider Group Finance team when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable: maintain customer accounts, follow up overdue payments and coordinate with sales.
• Process accounts payable: verify supplier invoices, reconcile goods received and ensure timely payments.
• Set up and maintain proforma invoices within the finance system.
• Execute month‑end processes: post journals for accruals, pre‑payments and fixed assets, produce trial balances and support reporting.
• Handle minimal payroll duties, transferring payroll funds to the designated bank account.

Required profile

• Previous finance or accounts assistant experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Studying towards CIMA or qualified by experience (QBE) in manufacturing; ACCA candidates are not considered.
• Proven ability to manage sales ledger, purchase ledger, AR and AP activities.
• Strong understanding of month‑end procedures, including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
