Manufacturing Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an inspiring Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our Mells site leadership team. Working closely with the Site Operations Manager, you will drive operational excellence, safety, compliance and continuous improvement across our civil engineering and drainage manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards and SHEQ compliance are met.
• Analyse processes, identify bottlenecks and implement efficiency‑boosting initiatives.
• Foster a performance‑driven culture based on ownership, accountability and transparency.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff to create a proactive, safety‑first mindset.
• Manage budgets, cost‑control measures and capital‑expenditure projects.
• Collaborate with unions and maintain strong employee relations.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience leading teams in a medium‑to‑large, automated industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a unionised setting.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and housekeeping best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.

Required skills

• IOSH Managing Safely certification (highly desirable).
• NEBOSH General Certificate (highly desirable).
