Marine Solicitor Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Solicitor to join our Tier 1 Marine practice in Exeter at Partner level. The successful candidate will bring at least 7 years of post‑qualification experience and a proven track record advising clients in the ports and marine sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex matters across ports and harbour law, marine regulatory issues, commercial and logistics agreements, dispute resolution and litigation, and coastal or port infrastructure development.
• Manage and expand an established client portfolio while developing new relationships within the sector.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the practice.
• Drive business development activities, networking and winning new work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality legal solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years PQE as a Marine Solicitor.
• Strong technical expertise and commercial awareness of the ports and marine industry.
• Passion for the sector and excellent client‑relationship management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead matters independently and work under pressure.
• Effective organisational skills and the capacity to manage competing priorities.
