Marine Underwriter

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Marine Underwriter to join our growing team in London. The role is hybrid, offering a balance of office collaboration and flexible working. You will be responsible for managing and developing a profitable marine portfolio within the competitive London market.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of marine business, including new business and renewals.
• Assess risk exposures and make commercially sound underwriting decisions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and market stakeholders.
• Support portfolio growth and achieve profitability targets.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams such as claims, actuarial, and legal.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marine underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of marine classes and current market conditions.
• Established network of contacts within the London insurance market.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Commercial mindset with sound underwriting judgement.
