Maritime Lecturer & Course Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced maritime professional to join our Academy as a Lecturer and Course Coordinator. The role blends hands‑on training delivery with curriculum development and programme coordination, supporting safer shipping and higher industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging maritime training in classroom, virtual and blended formats.
• Lead courses on ISM, DPA, incident investigation, navigation assessment and other operational topics.
• Develop and continuously update course content to reflect current legislation and best practice.
• Plan and coordinate training programmes, managing schedules, resources and learner communications.
• Supervise a small team of instructors, providing guidance and support.
• Monitor learner engagement and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with learners, industry stakeholders and internal teams.

Required profile

• Seagoing experience that provides operational credibility.
• Experience delivering training, mentoring or professional development programmes, or a strong desire to move into a training‑focused role.
• Strong technical knowledge of maritime operations and safety management.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
