Market Research and Competitive Intelligence Lead

About the role

The Market Research and Competitive Intelligence Lead sits within Wellington Management's Enterprise Strategy Office, reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the Firm & Product Strategy function. The role is responsible for shaping product strategy and positioning by turning competitive insights into actionable recommendations for product development, fund prioritisation, and go‑to‑market plans.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse competitive intelligence across the asset‑management sector, using data providers such as eVestment, Broadridge and Morningstar.
• Conduct market research to identify industry trends, client needs and emerging opportunities.
• Translate research findings into strategic recommendations for product managers and sales teams.
• Support the development and prioritisation of new funds and investment products.
• Prepare and present clear, data‑driven reports for senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Strategy Office on firm‑wide strategic projects.
