Marketing, Events & Outreach Officer

About the role

Join a purpose‑driven social enterprise that tackles wood waste while creating inclusive employment. As the Marketing, Events & Outreach Officer you will lead the promotion of the Wood Shop and broader community programmes, working closely with the CEO to raise visibility and drive footfall.

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging, on‑brand marketing materials for digital and print using Canva.
• Plan, produce and publish regular content on Instagram, Facebook and the website to increase reach and sales.
• Manage the newsletter and coordinate press releases and advertising campaigns.
• Support and attend outreach events, including occasional weekend duties, and ensure all promotional materials are ready.
• Identify community event opportunities, plan stand layouts and oversee event logistics.

Required profile

• Passionate about sustainability, social impact and community engagement.
• Excellent written communication and ability to craft clear, compelling messages.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
• Willingness to travel locally and work occasional weekends (about once a month).

Required skills

• Canva for creating marketing assets.
• Proficiency with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook).
• Basic website content management.
