Mat Well Operative – Mobile Cleaning Specialist

About the role

Join PHS Floorcare as a Mat Well Operative, travelling across London and the South of England to clean and maintain entrance barrier matting for a range of customers. The position is mobile, early‑morning focused and offers full training, a company van and all necessary equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customer sites and follow site sign‑in procedures.
• Assess work areas, apply safety measures and signage.
• Vacuum loose debris and apply approved cleaning solutions.
• Perform water‑extraction cleaning using specialist equipment.
• Leave all areas clean, safe and unobstructed.
• Complete service records and obtain customer sign‑off where required.
• Report any defects, hazards or issues identified during visits.
• Deliver professional customer service and represent PHS at all times.

Required profile

• Dependable, safety‑conscious and comfortable working independently.
• Willingness to start work early in the morning.
• Reliable, self‑motivated approach with good communication skills.
• Physical capability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Flexibility to travel and stay away from home when required.
• Professional attitude with a strong focus on health and safety.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
