Material Handler II

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented Material Handler II to join our onsite team in Heysham. You will manage the day‑to‑day logistics of receiving, unpacking, storing and shipping goods – including fine chemicals – in a safe, compliant warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Unpack incoming goods and record them accurately in the JD Edwards (JDE) system, placing items in the correct hazard‑controlled warehouses.
• Pick stock for repack orders and prepare UK and export shipments, following precise packing and labeling instructions.
• Assist with loading vehicles, collating export shipments and completing all required paperwork for couriers and third‑party carriers.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, investigate “Not on Location” items and maintain accurate stock control.
• Handle fine chemicals in line with Chemical Exposure Management (CEM) regulations and adhere to all health, safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Prior warehouse or material‑handling experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail, basic computer literacy and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Comfort working with chemicals under strict safety protocols; a Forklift Truck (FLT) licence is advantageous.

Required skills

• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) inventory system or similar computerised stock control tools.
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (preferred).
