Materials Application Engineer – Gas Turbine Components

About the role

We are looking for a Materials Application Engineer to join our Gas Turbine Components team in Derby (or Bristol). The role sits within the Materials team and provides expert materials advice across the full product life‑cycle of gas turbine engines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical materials guidance for design, development, manufacturing, testing and in‑service activities.
• Support design teams in selecting appropriate materials and processes, defining specifications and standards for new product introductions, fleet upgrades and modifications.
• Approve component and design definitions, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering disciplines and key stakeholders throughout the engine programmes.

Required profile

• Engineering Lead level with proven experience in materials engineering for gas turbine or similar high‑performance applications.
• Strong technical proficiency in material selection, process specification and quality standards.
• Ability to work autonomously and influence multi‑disciplinary teams.
