Materials Controller – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position supports a leading global manufacturing business in Peterlee. You will ensure the smooth flow of materials, maintain production continuity and help drive inventory efficiency within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Run MRP materials using SAP.
• Ensure continuity of supply to production.
• Coordinate Start‑of‑Production (SOP) and End‑of‑Production (EOP) activities.
• Monitor and adjust material requirements to match customer demand.
• Transmit weekly schedules to suppliers via EDI.
• Expedite material deliveries and liaise with suppliers and transport companies.
• Maintain supplier files and support annual/interim inventory checks.
• Assist with inventory reduction initiatives and control freight expenditure.
• Uphold HSE regulations and environmental safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience working with SAP MRP modules.
• Familiarity with EDI schedule transmission.
• Ability to coordinate SOP/EOP processes.
• Strong understanding of supply continuity and inventory control.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
