Maths Progress Coach – GCSE & Functional Skills

About the role

The Maths Progress Coach will join a forward‑thinking Further Education provider in Warrington, delivering targeted GCSE and Functional Skills Maths interventions. Working within a supportive team, you will help learners build numeracy confidence, improve exam techniques and progress towards further study or employment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging maths sessions for individuals and small groups, focusing on GCSE and Functional Skills curricula.
• Provide occasional cover teaching for GCSE and Functional Skills classes.
• Collaborate with curriculum, safeguarding and support teams to identify and remove barriers to learning.
• Monitor student progress and adapt interventions to meet diverse needs.

Required profile

• Degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of GCSE and Functional Skills Maths delivery.
• Understanding of SEND and inclusive learning approaches.
• Ability to build supportive relationships with learners.

Required skills

• Strong numeracy and subject knowledge.
• Effective lesson planning and delivery techniques.
