Maths & Science Teacher – Full‑time Fixed‑Term (1 year)

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Hemel Hempstead to hire a dedicated Maths & Science Teacher for a one‑year fixed‑term contract starting September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 and supporting them to achieve their full academic potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Maths and Science lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress regularly.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages participation.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
• Contribute to departmental development and wider school activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Recent experience teaching Mathematics and Science in a secondary school.
• Confidence delivering both subjects up to GCSE level.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to raising attainment and inspiring students.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the UK Mathematics curriculum.
• In‑depth knowledge of the UK Science curriculum.
