Maths Teacher – Secondary SEMH School (Hackney)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a supportive secondary SEMH school in Hackney from September. You will deliver engaging, differentiated mathematics lessons to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated maths lessons tailored to a range of abilities and behavioural needs.
• Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH challenges.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and the wider school team.
• Maintain effective classroom management and contribute to a supportive school culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching mathematics to secondary students, preferably with SEMH or challenging behaviour experience.
• Strong classroom management skills and resilience.
• Genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
