Maths Teacher – SEMH School (Key Stages 3‑4)

About the role

Engage Education is partnering with an independent SEMH school near Haywards Heath to recruit a passionate Maths Teacher. The role starts in September 2026 and focuses on delivering high‑quality mathematics education to pupils aged 9‑18 with a range of additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan, assess and adapt lessons to meet individual pupil needs.
• Inspire confidence and positive outcomes in students.
• Support pupils with SEMH, attachment, trauma and challenging behaviour using positive management strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching Maths at Key Stages 3 and 4 (or Early Career Teachers are welcome).
• Strong understanding of the Secondary National Curriculum.
• Excellent behaviour management skills.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.

• Behaviour management techniques.
