Mechanical Associate / Associate Director – Birmingham

About the role

Join a respected building services consultancy in Birmingham as a Mechanical Associate or Associate Director. You will lead technical delivery on major MEP projects while contributing to business development and regional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior technical lead for mechanical (or electrical) building services design.
• Oversee concept and detailed design, ensuring compliance and high quality.
• Manage project teams, mentor junior engineers, and maintain hands‑on involvement.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary meetings, client interactions, and support tender and bid processes.
• Contribute to regional strategy, commercial awareness and project financial management.

Required profile

• Strong background in mechanical building services design (electrical experience acceptable).
• Significant senior experience within a consultancy environment.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage teams and maintain client relationships.
• Commercial awareness and experience with project financials.
