Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well‑established building services provider. Based in Wolverhampton, you will work within a skilled design team, primarily from the office, delivering mechanical system solutions for a variety of building projects across the UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical system designs for heating, cooling, and ventilation.
• Ensure designs comply with UK and Irish standards (CIBSE, BS, EN, etc.).
• Attend design meetings, conduct site surveys, and produce calculations.
• Select and size equipment, create schematics and layout drawings.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for client and regulatory review.

Required profile

• Strong experience in mechanical building services design.
• Familiarity with relevant UK and Irish standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design software such as Hevacomp, CyMap, or IES.
• Knowledge of CIBSE, BS and EN standards.
