Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team in Winchester. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects, delivering sustainable and technically robust mechanical solutions from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Produce Mechanical Building Services designs from concept through to detailed design.
• Design HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling and public health systems.
• Prepare technical calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Attend client, design and technical coordination meetings.
• Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, British Standards and health & safety legislation.
• Provide advice on sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategies.
• Carry out building surveys and produce technical reports with recommendations.
• Support project delivery during construction and installation phases.
• Develop designs using industry‑standard software including Revit, AutoCAD, IES and Hevacomp.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
