Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with at least 10 years’ experience in mechanical building services design to join a leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor in Sutton. You will be responsible for creating, drafting and testing product layouts and schemes, ensuring designs meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical building services designs from concept through to construction.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical services with multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
• Test products, assess feasibility and make adjustments where necessary.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and site teams to resolve design and installation issues.
• Examine defective products and implement improvements for future designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical building services design.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer‑aided design.
• Experience delivering commercial and high‑end residential projects.
