Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Join a growing engineering organisation delivering deployable infrastructure solutions for defence, government and remote operations worldwide. You will work across the full design lifecycle, turning concepts into manufactured, integrated and deployed systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and an on‑site integration facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
• Support design analysis and validation activities, including finite element analysis (FEA) where required.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and associated technical documentation.
• Guide designs through manufacture, integration and delivery phases.
• Work closely with suppliers, project teams and the on‑site integration facility.
• Contribute to technical proposals, tenders and overall project delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in a mechanical design engineering role within a highly regulated industry.
• Strong 3D CAD expertise, preferably with Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledge of British Standards (BS) and ISO standards.
• Experience handling Bills of Materials and technical documentation.
• Supplier management and RFQ experience is desirable.
• International project experience is a plus.
