Mechanical Design Engineer – Liquid Cooling Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience in HVAC, thermal management or liquid‑cooling systems to join a specialist engineering company that designs and manufactures data‑centre cooling solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop liquid‑cooling and Rear Door Heat Exchanger (RDHx) systems for high‑density data‑centre applications.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Carry out thermal modelling, performance analysis and system optimisation to meet cooling targets.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working with liquid‑cooling, fluid‑mechanics or HVAC systems, preferably in data‑centre environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Thermal modelling and performance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat‑transfer principles.
• Design of chilled‑water distribution, pipework layouts and hydraulic systems.
