Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D) - Mid Level

About the Role

Join a leading engineering firm specializing in high-integrity and safety-critical sectors. We are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team in North London, driving innovation through the development of cutting-edge products and the continuous improvement of existing solutions.

Main Missions

• Support the R&D team in the development of new products and the enhancement of existing product lines.
• Create detailed and precise mechanical designs using advanced CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo).
• Produce and manage all associated technical documentation.
• Liaise with external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Manage post-production modifications and technical changes.
• Lead various engineering projects and provide technical assistance to colleagues regarding manufacturing and engineering challenges.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and key stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

Candidate Profile

• BSc/BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of proven experience in a mechanical design role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and instrumentation.
• Highly autonomous with a rigorous approach and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK to support business needs and projects.
