Mechanical Design Engineering Manager – Gas Turbines

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager will lead a team responsible for the design and integration of gas turbine components for aero engines. The role spans the full product development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to detailed design, ensuring safety, quality and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of design and integration activities for gas turbine components and assemblies.
• Apply product safety, robust design, systems engineering, DFX and producibility principles throughout development.
• Guide the team through gated technical reviews and secure technical buy‑offs.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers, manufacturing and supporting functions to meet quality, cost, schedule and safety targets.
• Mentor engineers, manage priorities and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Ensure design outputs satisfy customer expectations for manufacturability and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design engineering for gas turbine or aero‑engine components.
• Demonstrated technical and people leadership across multiple stages of the product development lifecycle.
• Ability to interface with stakeholders, drive technical delivery excellence and manage complex projects.
• Strong understanding of product safety, systems engineering and design for manufacturability.
• Experience in leading technical reviews and obtaining design approvals.
