Mechanical Design Manager – Building Services (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Manager with a strong background in building services to lead the design of multi‑million‑pound projects across defence, education and healthcare sectors. The role is fully remote, offering autonomy and flexibility while delivering high‑value HVAC, water and fire‑suppression systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process for large‑scale building services projects.
• Produce and review detailed designs, specifications and schematics for HVAC, water distribution and fire‑suppression systems.
• Ensure designs comply with budget, schedule and client requirements.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings and coordination sessions.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold best practice standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in building services.
• Proven track record of managing design teams on complex projects.
• Ability to work independently and make informed technical decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction.
