Mechanical Engineer – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a mechanically‑minded engineer to support the performance of our high‑volume food manufacturing site in Edinburgh. You will join a skilled engineering team, maintaining production equipment, driving reliability and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot a diverse range of modern manufacturing equipment and site services.
• Support continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
• Work across various mechanical systems and technologies, expanding technical expertise.
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety and food manufacturing excellence.

Required profile

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification, preferably obtained through an apprenticeship.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a proactive approach to learning.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.

• Full‑time permanent role with a salary between £45,000 and £55,000 per year.
• Rotating continental‑style shift pattern (12‑hour day and night shifts) averaging 42 hours per week.
