Mechanical Engineer – Heavy Manufacturing (Grimsby)

About the role

We are seeking a mechanically‑focused Maintenance Engineer to join a leading processing company in Grimsby. The role works a standard day shift, Monday to Friday, 8 am‑4 pm, following planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules on a range of process equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute PPM schedules on heavy‑manufacturing plant assets.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults on bailers, sortation machinery, pumps, valves, compactors, shredding equipment and gearboxes.
• Maintain equipment uptime and ensure safe operation of process lines.
• Document maintenance activities and report any recurring issues.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained Mechanical Engineer.
• Proven experience in heavy manufacturing or processing environments.
• Understanding of PPM systems and mechanical maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work independently on a day‑shift schedule.
