Mechanical Engineer – On‑site at Dumfries

About the role

Hydro International, a CRH Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its UK Wastewater Services team in Dumfries. The role involves regular travel to sewage sites across the United Kingdom and requires overnight stays away from home.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, set up and test water filtration systems on sewage sites.
• Carry out site inspections, fault finding and compile survey reports for quotation purposes.
• Interpret technical instructions using mobile electronic equipment.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces and outdoors on wastewater projects.
• Occasionally work in company workshops and collaborate with other trades.

Required profile

• Current valid driving licence.
• City & Guilds qualification.
• Completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.

Required skills

• Installation and commissioning of water filtration systems.
• Fault finding on mechanical equipment in wastewater environments.
• Use of mobile electronic equipment for technical tasks.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 OTE, DOE.
