Mechanical Engineer (Plant / Trailers / LGV)

About the role

This is a full‑time, days‑based position based in a brand‑new workshop in Tilbury. You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of plant machinery, trailers and light goods vehicles (LGVs) while receiving specialist training on the equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on heavy plant equipment, trailers and LGVs.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required.
• Maintain hydraulic and electrical systems on the machinery.
• Document service activities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Provide occasional weekend support at an enhanced overtime rate.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent with experience in plant, trailer or LGV maintenance.
• Ability to work independently in a workshop environment.
• Willingness to undertake specific industry training.
• Flexibility to adapt to varied technical challenges each day.
