Mechanical Engineer – Robotics & Battery Recycling

About the role

We are an innovative startup focused on sustainable lithium‑ion battery recycling. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, test and build robotics and custom machinery that will drive our recycling process forward.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and systems for robotics and custom machinery used in lithium‑ion battery recycling.
• Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD tools.
• Build and test prototypes, conduct simulations, analyse data and refine designs.
• Oversee manufacturing processes, ensure parts meet specifications, and integrate mechanical systems.
• Coordinate project timelines, budgets and resources while collaborating with electrical, software and other engineering teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, manuals and progress reports.
• Stay informed on advances in mechanical engineering, robotics and recycling technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably with robotics or custom machinery.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑changing, team‑oriented environment.
• Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Onshape or CATIA.
• Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with prototyping, testing and validation of mechanical systems.
