Mechanical Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the Mechanical Maintenance Department at our EcoPark site in Edmonton, North London. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant equipment while driving continuous improvement across both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Maintenance team, overseeing PPM programmes and reactive breakdown response.
• Plan, coordinate and execute major boiler and turbine shutdowns, working with cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor outage progress, adapt plans to address unforeseen maintenance needs and minimise downtime.
• Develop accurate budget forecasts for all maintenance and engineering activities and ensure delivery within financial targets.
• Ensure statutory inspections are planned and carried out in line with regulations.
• Deliver technically sound, commercially viable solutions to improve plant reliability.
• Support staff in problem‑solving and delivery of delegated project work.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing mechanical engineering or maintenance teams in an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of plant reliability, shutdown planning and statutory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to produce and manage budgets for engineering activities.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
