Mechanical Fitter – Assembly & Installation of Engineering Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join a market‑leading engineering business that designs, manufactures, hires and maintains bespoke storage equipment. Based in a Lancaster workshop, you will work Monday‑Friday assembling and installing hardware on steel fabrications while developing basic wiring skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and fit hardware to steel structures.
• Wire and terminate single‑ and three‑phase electrical systems.
• Connect pumps, motors, control panels and lighting circuits.
• Carry out pressure tests, electrical continuity checks and fault finding.
• Perform final inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Mechanical or mechanical/electrical background.
• Experience or interest in plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe bending or control panels.
• Willingness to undertake specialist training and progress either mechanically or electrically.
• Ability to commute to Lancaster.
