Mechanical Fitter – Engineering Team in Poole

About the role

An established engineering company in Poole is expanding its order book for the next ten years and is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join a small, hands‑on team. The role involves new builds and repairs on drive systems for special‑purpose vehicles, with a focus on delivering ‘like new’ quality.

Key responsibilities

• Disassembly and stripping down of units.
• Re‑assembly with new components and repair or replacement of damaged parts.
• Assisting with inspection and testing of repaired systems.
• Working from engineering drawings and worksheets.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical engineering, mechanics or mechanical fitting.
• Inquisitive nature with a strong eye for detail.
• Proficiency using a variety of hand tools such as socket sets, screwdrivers and torque wrenches.
• Interest or hobby in vehicle mechanics, including cars or motorbikes.

What we offer

• £14.48 per hour (£28,253 per annum) with overtime available.
• 37.5‑hour week – Monday‑Thursday 7:30 am‑4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am‑1:00 pm.
