Mechanical Fitter

About the role

Join Tradebe UK as a Mechanical Fitter and play a vital part in keeping our Heysham site operating safely and efficiently. You will carry out day‑to‑day maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, supporting production and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic plant and equipment.
• Maintain equipment in a safe, regulatory‑compliant condition.
• Provide engineering support to production teams and assist non‑skilled staff with technical matters.
• Complete work permits, follow HSWA, IPPC, COSHH and other relevant regulations.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and contribute to new equipment design.
• Maintain site housekeeping standards and provide holiday or sickness cover as needed.
• Participate in overtime and out‑of‑hours call‑outs to meet production demands.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance of pumps, tanks and pipework.
• Background working in a CMMS‑driven maintenance department.
• Valid Fork Lift Truck licence.
• Ability to work on‑site in Middleton and respond to short‑notice cover requirements.
