Mechanical Fitter – Pharmaceutical

About the role

An exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join a leading pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer in Liverpool. You will be responsible for the full‑cycle assembly and fitting of bespoke process equipment, supporting both on‑site and overseas installations.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical build documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assemble and fit components such as pressure vessels, rotating machinery, gearboxes, agitators, motors and hydraulic systems to tight tolerances.
• Collaborate with electrical and control engineers to ensure timely completion of equipment builds.
• Liaise with engineering teams to resolve fit, function or design issues.
• Inspect components and pressure vessels at supplier sites and report non‑conformances via quality systems.
• Support production activities and assist with off‑site installations at customer locations.

Required profile

• Time‑served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in a mechanical fitting role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with pressure vessel testing is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and effective problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read assembly drawings.
