Mechanical Inspector – Precision Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join our Quality team at Aaron Manufacturing in Poole. You will ensure that precision‑engineered components meet exact customer specifications before dispatch, supporting sectors such as aerospace, motorsport, nuclear and oil & gas.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out first‑off, in‑process and final inspections of machined components.
• Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and complete all inspection documentation.
• Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment, including CMM where applicable.
• Investigate non‑conforming products and work with production teams to define corrective actions.
• Support continuous quality‑improvement initiatives and release conforming products for dispatch.

Required profile

• Previous experience in mechanical inspection within a precision‑engineering environment.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to work closely with machinists and management.
• Desirable: experience with FAIR, aerospace quality, or CMM operation.
