Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding engineering team in a heavy food/FMCG environment. The role offers a stable days‑based shift pattern and the chance to work on a variety of mechanical and some electrical equipment in a busy production setting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, pumps, belts and gearboxes.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Fault‑find on single‑phase and three‑phase electrical systems.
• Handle sensors and relays.
• Maintain roll briggs, packaging machinery and silos.
• Service and repair blowers, balers and compressors.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and minimise downtime.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong background in heavy food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Proactive, reliable and team‑focused.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
